And then when you received the results you were surprised at their findings. You were detailed oriented and good with mechanical things. Or you were an outdoor type and scientifically inclined. This ultimately left you puzzled.Fast forward several years. Job evaluation or career assessment exams might cost several hundred dollars. But, listen very closely to this. I am going to let you in on a little secret. You will easily select the perfect business with the following brief business/career evaluation test. This article will show you an easy way to select the business that is right for you! One that perfectly matches your skills, background, and abilities. A Time To Focus And A Time To Diversify

Posted by admin on 19 Jan 2008 at 08:01 pm | Tagged as: Uncategorized

I?m the Queen of the Focus message in the Work at Home Mom Community. I believe it?s important to have a tight focus when you?re developing or growing a home business that will pass the test of time and bring in a reliable income. This is especially true when it comes to a Direct Sales business. If you?ve opted to join a Direct Sales company such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef or Lia Sophia you will experience the highest level of success if you keep all of your business attentions on that one company. There is a temptation for some Direct Sellers to branch off into a ?complimentary? business. They may think that a gourmet food company would be a perfect addition to a Pampered Chef business, and at first glance it might seem to be so ? but it really isn?t. The beauty of Direct Sales is that it?s a ready made business. The company has done all the hard work for you when it comes to a sales plan, promotional materials, etc. Marketing experts have designed a system that has been proven to work if you just work it ? so anything you do to muddy up the message is going to reduce your effectiveness. There are some businesses that do benefit from diversification, which is just a fancy way to say that you?re offering multiple products or services. A home based crafter often creates a wide variety of items, people do love choices at craft shows. An internet marketer will create several different websites of varying topics and interests to ensure that their affiliate income will remain stable through any particular market changes. One of the most interesting examples of diversification that I?ve seen is being demonstrated by a single mother in my town. Tishia Lee just left what will hopefully be the last of several low paying dead end jobs to launch her own home based business, ?Tishia Saves Time? (http://www.tishiasavestime.com). Tishia Saves Time is two businesses in one. On one side she?s offering Virtual Assistant (VA) services to busy internet marketers. A VA performs all kinds of administrative tasks according to the needs of a client. Tishia does internet research, answers client email, updates websites, etc. The other side of her business is offline. Tishia offers personal errand services for local clients. She?ll pick up dry cleaning or make a run to the grocery store for a low hourly fee plus mileage or she can even be tapped to come over and clean your kitchen on one of those busy days when you just need a helping hand. The two branches of her business flow smoothly together. She has acquired several regular clients and has the flexibility she needs in her schedule, leaving her plenty of time to enjoy her young son. So where are you with your home business? Should you be tightening up your focus or looking for ways to diversify?

How To Avoid Fraud, Deceit & Scams!

Posted by admin on 19 Jan 2008 at 05:01 pm | Tagged as: Uncategorized

The world is full of people who feel they can take advantage of others to obtain their goals in life. Fraud, Deceit & Scams happen in the real world every day. Just tune into your local news to hear about them. But, Fraud, Deceit & Scams also happen in the virtual world as well. And, unfortunately they often hit those who can lease afford the losses.Online we are always inundated with “get rich quick schemes” and their claims of “overnight success”. If you’re like me you find this kind of s.p.a.m clogging up your email box on a daily bases. They tell us how easy it is. How we can just sit back and relax, do nothing all day long and still make a roll full of money. Hell, we might as well go golfing because we’ll be making money hand over fist while on the golf course. :- Now while sitting back and watching the money roll in would definitely be nice, reality is, rarely does any get rich quick scheme ever work. The promises of millions never pan out no matter how hard you try. The problem here is that so many people want and need to make more money. And they want to make that money as quickly as they can. So they believe, or hope that what the scammer is telling them will be true. But understand this, even the greatest, largest companies in the world took time and work to build. Martha Stewart for example will tell you that she started her business in the basement of her house. And look where that business is today. A multi billion dollar a year corporation. While we all can’t be Martha Stewart, Donald Trump, Bill Gates or Hugh Heffner we can have our own successful home based business if we just stay away from the scams. So, how do we spot the scams? Well, if you are serious about operating your own home based business there are things you can watch out for. Sort of the red flags of the business opportunity world. Let’s have a look at some now.- Charging you for information about their business opportunity. It’s pretty plain and simple. A so called business opportunity tells you all you have to do is go to your mail box pick up the checks and cash them, but first you must send them a check to get the information on how this is done. I’m of the thinking that your check is going to be the only check getting cashed here. This type of ad appears all over the internet. But if their business opportunity is so good why must you pay to find out what it is. Would it not make more sense to give you that information for free so they could get you interested in their product. I would think so! And unfortunately many people get scammed into sending these frauds the money they ask for. Then if they receive the information they paid for they will often find it pretty much useless and often they are require to send more money for more information. Stay away from these types of ads, they will not get you a successful home based business!- They want to charge you a fee to sell their products.O.K., I’ve got to ask - What’s up with that?! If their product is so great won’t you be selling them like crazy? Won’t you be making money for not only yourself but for the company as well? Don’t pay to sell someone else’s products.- They offer you free products.Ever see these ads where you are entitled to a free (what ever) only to discover you’ll need to purchase something first. ie: Sign up today and get (what ever) for FREE! Of course what they don’t tell you is you’ll have to purchase a sample package first in order to get the freebie.- Fly by nightsFly by night companies that pop up and take peoples money operate both offline and online. Very often they disappear without warning. So to keep yourself safe from these frauds ask yourself the following questions. Is this an established company? How long have they been in business? Do they have an actual street address or only a P.O. Box? Or worse, no address and no way to contact them at all? Do they use only an auto responder or do they have an email where you can get in touch with a real person? I know that all these points seem like common sense. But why then, do so many people ignore them. That is why these scammers can exist. As explained in my book “eBay Marketing Wholesale SourcePak” when looking for your perfect home based business it is important to look for a company that only gives you the straight goods. No promises of exorbitant amounts of money falling from the sky into your lap without you doing a thing to make it happen. And, they should not be charging you for any information on their business opportunity it should be laid out for you. Use your own common sense, if something looks to good to be true, then it probably is to good to be true.Best of Luck!Joe Clare

California Product Liability Insurance

Posted by admin on 19 Jan 2008 at 02:01 pm | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Simply put, liability insurance protects you from lawsuits. This includes the any bodily injury or damage to another’s property that occurs on your premises or as a result of you or your employee’s negligence. In covers customers, suppliers, delivery persons, employees, vendors, visitors, in short, virtually anyone but you, the business owner. Your General Liability (GL) policy covers you for a wide variety of situations. If you have a Business Owner’s Policy (BOP), it likely includes a broad form GL policy in the package. It is your GL coverage that protects you against most of the losses mentioned above. It may also include some limited coverage for things like libel, slander and other specific causes of loss. It is important to read your policy carefully, especially the exclusions. These policies are written to cover a broad range of business risks but also carry exclusions that could be important to your business. All policies are not created equal. There is simply no substitute for reading and understanding the policy. Your agent should be able to help you understand what is covered and what is not. If you are a manufacturer, you need Product Liability coverage. Should you have any doubt about this, I would encourage you to visit any retail store and read the warning labels on products on the shelf. Many of the warnings sound silly. A group called The Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch (M-Law) annually published a list of crazy warning labels. Last year’s winners included a toilet brush with the warning “Do not use for personal hygiene.” The point is that each of these crazy warnings came about because somebody sued the manufacturer of the product (perhaps even a lot of somebodys). Juries can award huge judgments against manufacturers even if there was blatant misuse of a product. Your Product Liability coverage will protect you. When all other policy limits have been exhausted, your Umbrella Policy will cover any additional judgments, up to the policy limits. Because they usually require you to carry large limits on your other policies, like $500,000 or even $1 million, umbrella policies tend to be relatively inexpensive for the amount of coverage they provide. This is because it is rare for any lawsuit to reach $500,000. Given their nature, umbrella policies tend to offer very broad coverage, but as with any other insurance, read the policy carefully. Different types of liability coverage have developed over the years do address specific business needs. When buying a liability policy, you should be aware that there are two types of coverage, occurrence coverage and claims-made coverage. Occurrence coverage is more expensive but covers you based on when the loss happened, even if it was many years ago. Claims-made coverage only covers you while the policy is in force and the claim is made. With occurrence coverage, as long as you always have some policy in force, you will not have gaps in coverage. With a claims-made policy, it is possible to have gaps when you have not coverage in force. Purchase an occurrence policy unless you have no other choice.
